Social workers are found in a number of places including government agencies, foster care and child services, hospitals, camps, inpatient care facilities, suicide hotlines, rape crisis centers, probation offices and assistance programs.

 

Social workers have compassion and a desire to help individuals, families, and communities solve or cope with problems.  

 

They counsel individually, lead groups and research social problems. Some areas are poverty, racism, discrimination, mental and physical illness, addiction, and abuse.
