Why I Chose This Career

“To go into this career field felt like a calling from a young age, I knew that my purpose was to become a therapist and I put all my energy into achieving that.  I can remember being in grade school and feeling this passion for people to feel loved and accepted. I would try to come up with ways I could help save the world and make everyone feel as though they belonged. My grandma gently reminded me I wasn’t Superman but I still had powers to help people and I could do it without feeling I needed to rescue them and as I matured I would understand what those powers were. I realized later on what she meant by her words and that it isn’t about saving others it is about learning to walk alongside others during certain parts of their journey and to hold a space of love for them without judgment, expectation, or trying to fix or control someone’s outcome.”

I Like My Career Because

I enjoy being able to witness others heal and grow based on their ability to learn new tools that allow them to become their greatest healer. People have an extraordinary ability to self- heal but sometimes due to trauma and hardships people forget all they are capable of and how important their existence is in this world and to be able to witness people overcome their suffering and reconnect with themselves is one of the greatest honors I believe I will experience in this lifetime. I believe that the greatest success we can achieve in this life is serving others for the greater good and working in this field allows me the opportunity to do that on a daily basis.

“We are all humans; we all experience suffering, failure, pain, fear, and sadness. In those moments remember it is ok to be vulnerable and fragile. The spirit learns through feeling and experiencing those low points in our lives because they happen to be the greatest lessons for us to experience in order to nurture the spirit within us to evolve, grow, and learn.”
