Teaching Points

You will listen to an individual or group clients describe their problems and what causes them to abuse alcohol and/or drugs (chemicals).

 

You are a support system to help and teach them to modify their behaviors to eliminate the triggers of addiction activities. Together this can include building a plan.

 

Working in hospitals, clinics, abuse centers and the courts from children to adults.

 

Most substance abuse counselors have licensed therapists specializing in alcohol and drug issues.
